The Fall of the Heiress

The Rich Bride Struck a Maid and Discovered Her Identity

Eleanor backed away slowly toward the grand entrance, her mind racing as she saw the angry looks from the powerful guests who were just admiring her minutes ago. She gripped her damp silk dress, her eyes darting around the room looking for an easy escape from the growing nightmare. David stood up slowly from the floor, helping Martha stand up safely beside him while keeping one firm arm around the old woman's bruised shoulders for support. He pulled his heavy smartphone from his inner tuxedo jacket pocket, his expression colder than ice as he dialed his chief corporate security leader.

David: Lock every single door in this house immediately!

Eleanor: David, please! We can talk about this in private!

David: You struck my mother's best friend and tried to steal her legacy!

Eleanor: It was my mother's idea! I had nothing to do with it!

Two large, uniformed security guards stepped into the ballroom through the side entrances, walking quickly across the room to block Eleanor path to the front doors. Eleanor shrank back, her fake elegance completely gone as she dropped her heavy leather belt onto the floor in panic. David motioned to his legal advisor, who was standing near the front of the crowd watching the entire scene with wide, serious eyes.

David: Call our divorce lawyer and the state police right now.

Lawyer: I am already recording everything, Mr. Sterling.

David: Charge her with physical assault, fraud, and grand theft.

Eleanor: You cannot do this to me! I am your fiancee!

The security officers grabbed Eleanor firmly by her arms, holding her in place despite her crazy screaming and kicking against the hard marble floor. The rich guests who had cheered for her just an hour ago now took out their phones, taking photos and videos of the fallen heiress as she was held for the police. Eleanor wept loudly, her heavy makeup running down her face as her dreams of marrying into the billionaire Sterling family crumbled into total dust right before her eyes.
