Uncovering The Betrayal

A Missing Billionaire Returned Home To Find His Wife Scrubbing

Victoria gasped loudly as she tried to gather her senses, her hand still pressed firmly against her burning face. The title of the estate, the lavish bank accounts, and the luxury credit cards had all been managed through the Sterling Trust. She had assumed Elena was helpless and broke, completely unaware of the massive financial empire behind David's family name. The reality of her situation began to sink in as she saw the sheer confidence in David's cold posture. Victoria looked at the two security guards, but both men backed away slowly, sensing that their boss was in deep trouble. David stepped past the shattered wine glass, extending a gentle hand down toward his wife on the floor. Elena took his hand with trembling fingers, allowing him to pull her up into his warm, protective embrace. He wrapped his arms tightly around her small frame, kissing the top of her messy hair while glaring at Victoria. The smell of cheap floor cleaner on Elena's dress tore at his heart, making his blood boil even hotter.

David: I am taking you upstairs to pack your real clothes right now.

Elena: She locked my room, David. She took all my things away.

Victoria: She signed over her rights! I have the legal papers!

David: Those papers are worth nothing, and you belong in a cell.

David guided Elena toward the grand staircase, stepping right past Victoria, who cowered against the heavy wooden railing. Victoria's phone began to ring loudly in her small designer purse, playing a sharp electronic chime repeatedly. She pulled out the phone with shaking hands and answered it, her voice trembling with sudden panic and deep fear. It was her private banker calling from the local branch to inform her that every account had been frozen solid. Her credit cards were declined instantly, and the mortgage on her luxury car had just been called in by the bank. Victoria dropped her phone onto the floor next to the broken glass, her fake confidence completely destroyed in seconds. She looked up at David's back as he walked up the stairs with Elena, realizing her sweet life was over. Elena looked back over David's shoulder, seeing the wicked stepmother finally suffer the consequences of her greedy actions.

Elena: How did you find out what was happening here, David?

David: I hired a private investigator the moment I reached the country.

Elena: I thought you were dead... they showed me a report!

David: It was all fake, sweetheart. They lied to keep us apart.

When they reached the upper floor, David kicked open the door to the master bedroom with a loud, crashing thud. The room was filled with expensive designer clothes, gold jewelry, and furs that belonged to Victoria and her selfish daughter. Elena stood in the doorway, staring at her old room that had been converted into a closet for her tormentor. David walked inside, opening the large mahogany wardrobe and pulling down Victoria's expensive coats onto the carpet. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a key that opened a hidden wall safe behind a painting. Inside sat the original deed to the mansion along with the last will and testament of Elena's late father. Elena covered her mouth in shock as she saw the documents she thought had been burned two years ago. Victoria had lied about everything to steal the life that belonged to Elena from the very beginning.

David: Your father left everything to you, Elena. Every single penny.

Elena: She told me he died in massive debt... she showed me bills!

David: Fake receipts printed to trick a grieving daughter.
